The HHS Student Council has chosen "Seasons of School Spirit" as the theme for Spirit Week 2023 with daily dress-up days centered on the four calendar seasons, topped off by "The Season of the Hawk." Students can wear clothing each day that features colors, a holiday or a sport that represents the season (starting with fall), and ending the week by dressing in school colors or Hermon Hawks logo clothing. Of course, there's the rousing school-wide assembly to end the school day, and a home football game against Medomak Valley.
Students earn points for their class by dressing in the theme each day, by attending home athletic events, and by contributing to a collection of socks (new ones) for residents of the Shaw House, a facility in Bangor for homeless teens. (Due to scheduling issues, there will not be a homecoming dance with Spirit Week. The fall semi-formal dance will take place on Saturday, October 21, at Hermon Elementary School.)

Thank You to all the sponsors, teams, student helpers, advisors, and all the community members and parents that supported our 3rd Annual Golf Fundraiser. Our classes of students were able to raise over $21,000, which will be split amongst the classes, in order to eliminate senior dues for every HHS student! I want to give a special thanks to Pine Tree Solar and Next Home Experience (Sarah Ryan & Isaac Raymond) for being our Lead Sponsors this year, along with our title sponsors Hartt/Bison Transportation, Twin City Sheet Metal, TC Hafford Basement Systems, C&K Variety, Danforth's, The Shop, Bangor Truck & Trailer, Mcleod's Water Wells, Hopkins Energy, and Sweep & Slate. And a final thanks to the parents who provided food, to Pepsi for providing drinks, and to Seadog Brewing Company for the Sandwiches. The Greater Hermon Area has done an amazing job supporting our High School students, and we are very grateful! See you all next year!

It has been a wonderful first day so far! Reminder about our Welcome Cookout and informal Open House!

Classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026,
As you may know we put on a golf tournament fundraiser for all classes each summer to raise money for graduation, prom, and senior banquet. We are in full swing preparing for this and need your help!
1. We need student volunteers who want to participate on the day of the golf tournament
- You will get 10 hours of community service! :)
- You can sign up for exciting things such as running the air cannon, running the silent auction, and much more!
2. We need your parents/ guardians to sign up to bring a side dish, dessert, drinks, or breakfast item!
- If your parent/ guardian is interested in doing this, please respond to this email with what they intend to bring. ANYTHING HELPS!
If you are interested in being involved with the golf tournament in any way please reach out to your class advisors or officers, or reach out to Mr. Murray!

COMMON APPLICATION WORKSHOP

To The Hermon Community:
If there was ever any doubt that you support your students at the High School, then our golf fundraiser is proof that you do. We are grateful for that. As of today, we have 26 teams in our event, and 38 different local businesses and people who have sponsored our event. On top of that, we have over $3,000 in silent auction items donated, which we will start auctioning off in August. For all of this we are so thankful.
Now, we turn ourselves to the homestretch. We have room enough for 4 more teams. And we are still attempting to raise money from sponsors. Our goal, in order for each class to profit enough money to eliminate senior dues and expenses, is about $4,500 more than what we have thus far. We are entering our final push, and are looking for any help we can get from local businesses, individuals, and everything in between. My information is in the attached picture for any questions.
Our kids and I are grateful for any help the community can provide us. Go Hawks!
